Brian and Kari, thanks a bunch for the du series. These were some super fun races at some great venues. Chip timing, great courses, kick ass payouts, an awesome emcee, good friends, challenging races with beer and hot dogs! AND, little or no traveling! Saturday was no different. Weather was perfect and the course conditions weren't a factor. I hope you do the series again next year. I think the buzz will grow and participation will be great. Thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors. Oh, and love the BIG check. That thing is going on the wall!
Hey, I'm glad you guys and gals had fun. Thanks to everyone who came out to race, spectate, volunteer, or just drink beer and eat hotdogs. We finally floated a keg! The 918xc gang cleaned up on the men's side. Jocelyn... that's $600 I've paid you over the course of the last month! Surely you can afford a $23 hand grinder. Stay tuned for next year's schedule. For now, here are the results from Turkey Mountain: http://www.dgroadracing.com/2009%20Double%20Shot%20Turkey%20Mountian.htm
Thanks for waiting on me! I figured everyone would have left by the time I finished, and yet there were people there cheering me on. Felt awesome! Can't tell you how much I enjoyed it, and how great all the volunteers and competitors were who encouraged my son and I while we were on the trail. Great group of people all around. Special thanks to my son who did the whole last 5k with me even though he was the biker on a team - he saw how much I was struggling and went with me to make sure I finished. Amazing day for me all around.
Ha! Ha! You're right, but then that would be one less time I'd get to stop by Doubleshot, serving the best coffee in town with the coolest staff around!
Thank you so much for the Doubleshot Series. Although I am always last, I wouldn't miss it. You and your support team do a great Job and I look forward to next year. Hey, maybe by then I can pick up some speed. Regardless, I will be there. Thanks again
